The Killers- Everything Will Be Alright
This past week has been a rough one... The world lost a truly great person, someone I've known since elementary school. I am heading home today to attend my dear friend's funeral on Tuesday... It's going to be a horrible day. I don't think the reality of things has officially set in yet... All I know is I will greatly miss our random run ins, or him telling the karaoke host to turn off my microphone because I'm tone deaf. Oh life... :(
This song has always been the sound of melancholy to me. It hits my heart hard and I've always really loved it. It seemed to be appropriate for today's musical selection.
Be safe, my friends.

It's Not Always Black and White
shorts: forever 21
top: gap
shoes: frye
necklace: mysalvation
glasses: ray ban
Since I was a child, I've always been pretty self conscience about my legs, my thighs in particular. For a long time, I refused to wear shorts, or super short dresses for fear of feeling like the elephant man. I never thought I was fat, but even at my skinniest, my thighs haunted me. Thoughts of the pale, doughy masses frolicking in the daylight gave me chills and drove me to wear pants on even the hottest days of summer. I'm not exactly sure when the transition to being comfortable with myself happened... I have come to accept that no matter how much running I do, or how much I try to limit my candy intake(which is seriously hard for me to do!!!) I will always have fuller legs. I am a curvy, size 6 girl, and even though it is hard to sometimes not wish to be thinner, or smarter, or whatever, accepting myself for who I am inside and out is the best I can do. In the words of dear Lady Gaga... I was born this way, baby! ;)

Nom! Nom! Nom!
Another Foodie Post!
Two nights ago I made a super delicious and easy chicken dish. I'm all about easy and fast cooking because I normally don't have the patience for complicated meals. However, saying that, I still really love trying new things and feel the best sense of accomplishment when one turns out super yummy!
Chicken Breast stuffed with Apple and Raison Stuffing
Stuffing
I bought a box of chicken based whole wheat stove top stuffing because as I said, I'm a lazy cook. I followed the directions on there except I added into the boiling water 1 medium sized apple chopped up and a small pack of raisons. Mix everything up and cover with a lid while it thickens.
Chicken
3 (or however many you need) free range chicken breasts
Cut the chicken down the center(not all the way through), and spread the opening apart so you can stuff it.
Spice it up! I sprinkled with pepper, salt, paprika, and bouquet garni
Place them in a baking pan with a few pieces of butter on the bottom of the pan and 1 or 2 small pieces on top of the chicken.
Put your stuffing inside the chicken and stuff so it is overflowing.
Cover the chicken with tin foil(you don't want the stuffing to burn) *Remove foil when chicken is close to being done so the stuffing gets crisp on top*
Place in oven at 350 for probably about 40-50 minutes... when cooking chicken stuffed you want the temperature inside the stuffing to be 165 degrees when finished.
And there you have it! A quick, easy and delicious dinner for you and your family to enjoy. I think it would be a great dish to make for a dinner party because it is quite pretty!
Do you have any easy recipe suggestions for me to try?

Up the Arbor to your Door, and More
So.... BIG NEWS... That beauty of a house up there... well... WE JUST BOUGHT IT!
eeee!!! :)
I've posted about our search for the perfect house before and we've never had much luck in the past. This time around, the entire process went so quickly and so smoothly that I really feel it was meant to be. I can't wait to share more photos of it when we move in mid July. It was built in the 1850's and has a huge walk in fireplace by the kitchen. On the property there is also a barn(Ahhhmmm! Hello wedding!) (Because of this house, I am officially all wedded out and want to plan something for either this fall or spring!)
Anyway, I am beyond excited and it feels really great to finally be able to talk about it openly. We have been keeping things pretty hush hush because I think we are both terrified of jinxing our new found good luck. I now truly believe that everything happens for a reason. Good things happen when you are ready.
On another note, I made a pretty rad dinner last night that I will be sharing with you later this week! Yum! ;)

Weekend Rewind
This weekend was truly and utterly fantastical. Friday evening I made my way to Philadelphia, weekend bag and funfetti cupcakes in tote, for a ladies night sleepover partaayy. We kicked off the night right with a huge bottle of white wine, followed by some sparkly champagne and a delicious lemon/garlic tilapia dinner. Although we had girly games on hand such as mall madness, we ended up getting a bit too tipsy and silly to sit still and simply play a game.
Saturday started off right by a late wake up call and eggs, bacon and whole wheat toast for breakfast(we tend to center most events around yummy food and good drinks, can you tell!?) We then proceeded to get dressed and head over to the Yards Brewing Company for a tour + yummy samples. It was really chill and I highly suggest going there if ever in the Philadelphia area. We then had lunch, more beer and went on back to the house for some quiet time before our big night of dancing. We ended up going to Silk City for an 'Anything You Can Shake Your Hips To' party and boy, did I ever shake my hips! I woke up this morning feeling like my body had been swinging around in circles all night. The above photo was taken before we got all sweaty and out of control! I may add some more photos to this post later on!
My lunch today! Grilled Krispe Kreme Donut with a mini burger and Chocolate covered Bacon from PYT... Heaven in my mouth! :)
I feel like I have some of the most amazing friends in the world and even though I live a bit far away from them now, I really appreciate the weekends we get to spend together. It was so great and I can't wait for our next big girly weekend! :)
Do you and your friends have girly weekends and if so, what do you do?

Fill in the Blank Friday
Last summer's July 4th fireworks in Marblehead!
1. This weekend I'm .. Attending a ladies night sleepover with a few of my most favorite people in the world! Going to the Yards Brewery in Philly to part-take in some beer week fun. Maybe a little dancin' schmancin' at night. Snuggly time with the pups!
2. My last vacation was ... Last summer when Eric and I went to Marblehead, MA
3. My next vacation will be ... Most likely Marblehead again this summer... hopefully visiting Montreal in the fall!
4. My favorite way to relax is .. Sitting on the beach with a great book!
5. When vacationing one should always .. Eat lots of ice cream!
6. When vacationing one should never... Be negative, you should just enjoy your time away from real life stuff.
7. The best part about a vacation is... Being on vacation! ;)

Music Mondays
So I've decided to officially devote Monday's posts to one of my most favorite things... music! I'm going to try my hardest to get on some sort of blogging schedule. I'll let you all know when I figure it out! ;)
I'm a big fan of the Mother Monster. I think beyond the crazy clothes and ridiculous dance moves, this gal can really sing. I would love to go see her perform with no tricks or special effects, just gaga + a piano. 'You and I' shows off her talent, and I hope you enjoy!

An Outdoor Adventure
On Saturday, Eric, our friend Steve, and I set off on an adventurous climb to the Pinnacle, Berks Counties highest point of elevation, located on Blue Mountain. It was the perfect day for it being it was completely overcast and even chilly during some parts of the hike. If you are ever in the Lehigh/Berks area, I highly suggest checking it out, however be aware that it is home to gross creatures such as copperheads and rattlesnakes!(EEEEK!) Steve does this hike fairly often and warned us ahead of time that he normally sees at least one snake during his trip. I then warned him that I might faint. I have always been 100% completely terrified of those demonic creatures, but when we did come across that one, I was super proud of myself for only letting out one small, girlish shriek and kept the shaking to a minimum. I did not cry, this time.
The only camera I brought was the one in my iphone, so I apologize for the poor photo quality, it definitely did not do the amazing views justice!
Eric looking super handsome on the way there! ;)
With all the different trails we went on, it turned out to be about a 10 mile hike, and boy, do I feel it today! It was good fun, and I'd love to do it again! :)
What did you do this weekend??

Custom Orders
The Lovely Leaf Headband in Shades of lemon and Cream
The Lady Turban in 100% Navy Cotton
Over the weekend I did two custom color orders. This is so fun for me to do because a lot of the times the customer will think of an awesome color combo that I myself may have never put together. I think both of the above orders turned out excellent!!
Moral of the story, don't be shy, request a unique and custom headband!! ;)
